Since 1989, Dennis has served on various boards, church groups, and coached youth sports teams.

Dennis is a Christian, a husband, a father, and a grandfather. Dennis has been married to his wife Dierdre for 42 years, they have three children, Allen, Kenzie, and Ethan, and a granddaughter, Kirra. Dennis is a son, brother, uncle, and nephew. He is a Sheriff’s Deputy, a Camel, and a Veteran. Dennis is an avid collector of rocks, coins, and beer steins.
